Planimetric is run by Ian Milligan, an experienced GIS consultant working in the environment, planning and utilities industry for over 19 years as a GIS consultant.

Background

Prior to starting his own business, Ian worked for 19 years as a GIS consultant, starting as a CAD technician for RSK Environment in 1995. During his time at RSK, 15 years in total, he progressed to Principal GIS Consultant and worked on a wide variety of projects for many different clients both in the UK and inernationally.

Ian left RSK in 2010 and joined land agents Fisher German Priestner, working on cable route development for a number of the UK's largest offshore windfarm developments. He provided a range of GIS-related services - legal mapping, GPS surveys and utilities mapping.

His last appointment was for APEM Remote Sensing, working as Head of Data Operations. Here he was responsible for the capture and processing of aerial imagery used for a variety of projects, primarily in the offshore windfarm sector to measure bird populations.

Since 2014, Ian has been working as a spatial analyst primarlily within the energy industry, working on a wide range of projects for oil/gas (indluing hydrogen) and renewables. Task include site selection, linear routing and engineering data management.
